Tinnitus or ringing in the ears is a subjective perception of noise. It is very common and I suspect most people would have suffered from tinnitus – albeit briefly – at some point in their lives. The most common form of tinnitus is a high-pitched ringing – the sound of crickets at night. Some people sense a humming or hissing. There has been an uptick in the incidence of tinnitus during the Covid pandemic. Some experts feel that this is simply due to the pandemic-driven lifestyle of isolation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The British Tinnitus Association based on safety data reported by the UK’s Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency<\/a>\u00a0(MHRA) showed that 1 in 7,275 people who receive the Covid vaccine will report tinnitus. This makes tinnitus a very rare side-effect of Covid vaccination.
